Emory is a Ruby library (gem) that monitors file system events within one or more directories like file additions, updates and deletes. Emory is configured into one or more “teleports” which consist of event handler/directory pairs filtered by regular expressions.
If you find yourself constantly having to duplicate files from one directory to another to develop a website or server-side application then Emory is the perfect tool for the job.
It is efficient, using operating system-level events as opposed to polling.
Emory was named after Dr. Emory Erickson, the inventor of the transporter in Star Trek, and the first person to be transported. Yes. We know. We’re nerds.
