Tacit Knowledge was formed in 2002 by a small team of San Francisco software engineers who had worked firsthand with online pioneers. The founders realized that many of their future clients had focused their efforts on website design to the detriment of scale and performance. Their most critical challenges were associated with maintaining and improving the operational back ends of their web properties.
Tacit Knowledge quickly moved forward with a guiding set of tenets: our solutions must be generational; our process must be transparent; and our projects must be delivered with speed. By only working with experienced talent, we've built a hybrid offshore/onshore project management model that efficiently utilizes international teams. Through the support of software conferences and open-source groups to cultivate local talent, Tacit Knowledge has been able to help these international teams to scale.
